Spell casting is the physical representation of magic on Erdreja the abilities of the spell caster represent the learnings of magic on Erdreja information passed down by scholars through the centuaries the different levels of spell casting represent just how much of an understanding of magic that particular spell caster has.

First Level spell list

Countermagic

Type: Special
Vocals: By the power of the Ancestors I resist that incantation (spell)!
Actions: Tear a level one or two spell card. If cast on someone else, point at or touch the recipient.
Range: 30 feet.
Effects: If cast on yourself this cancels the effects of a level 1 or 2 magic effect (spell or incantation) that has been or is being cast at you. If cast on someone or something else this cancels the effects of a Level 1 magic effect cast on or being cast on the person or item. It will not counter a level 2 effect being cast on someone or something else. You must begin the vocals of this spell within two seconds of the caster finishing the vocals of the spell you wish to counter, otherwise you will take full effect from the spell being cast at you. You cannot use this spell to counter more than one person casting at you at the same time. This spell has no effect on channelling powers (healing or necromantic).

Reaction: You can ignore the effects of the spell or incantation being cast at you.

Detect Magic

Type: Special
Vocals: By my power I detect magic.
Actions: Tear a level one or two spell card. Hold up your hand.
Range: 10 foot radius of self.
Effects: When cast you can briefly sense the presence and location of any magic within ten feet of you. This spell does not reveal how powerful the magic is or what an item does, nor does it give you any information on how to activate the magic within an item. A referee will inform you if any magic is present. The presence of long duration magical effects or spells and incantations such as chants and armours will also be detected by this spell

Reaction: If you are carrying an enchanted, or higher powered, item, or are under the effect of an active spell or incantation and are within ten feet of the person casting detect magic, raise your hand when the spell is cast and indicate whether the caster is detecting a spell effect or an item. A referee will be present and will inform the caster if there are any area effects to detect.

Distract

Type: Mind
Vocals: By my power, I distract you!
Actions: Tear a level one or two spell card. Point at or touch the target.
Range: 30 feet.
Effects: For ten seconds the target's attention is concentrated on what is directly behind them.

Reaction: You must turn around and concentrate on what is going on behind you for a slow count of ten, or until you are struck, whichever is the shorter period of time.

Fear

Type: Mind
Vocals: By my power I command you fear me!
Actions: Tear a level one or two spell card. Point at or touch the target.
Range: 30 feet.
Effects: For ten seconds the target fears the spellcaster. This fear is unranked and will affect any character unless immune to fear or protected against magic.

Reaction: You must try to flee from the spellcaster for a slow count of ten, or until the spell is removed (whichever is the shorter period of time).

Fumble

Type: Mind
Vocals: By my power I cause you to fumble that <named item>!
Actions: Tear a level one or two spell card. Point at or touch the target.
Range: 30 feet.
Effects: Causes the target to release his or her grip on the targeted item

Reaction: You must release the specified item from your grasp and allow it to fall. You may not just swap the item from one hand to the other or catch it as it falls. Once the item has fallen as far as it possibly can, you can attempt too pick it up again. In special cases, such as when the item is fragile or a non-combat prop, you should place the item carefully on the ground rather than dropping it. Items strapped to your wrist must be allowed to fall from your grasp and hang loosely before being recovered. Any items that are tied to your wrist must be fastened in a safe, non-constricting and easy to remove way.

Mend

Type: Physical
Vocals: By my power I mend this <named item>!
Actions: Tear a level one or two spell card. Touch the shattered pieces.
Range: Touch
Effects: The item is fully repaired and can be used. This spell can only be used on items broken by a shatter spell (or by an effect based on the shatter spell). A mend spell can be used to repair a shattered shield, but not one affected by a crush. This spell cannot be used to repair armour damaged by combat.

Purge Poison

Type: Physical
Vocals: By my power I purge the poison from this location!
Actions: Tear a level one or two spell card. Touch the patient.
Range: Touch
Effects: Stops alchemical contact poisons from doing any more harm to the patient. Any active effects of the poison are removed instantly but this does not cure or heal any of the damage already done by the poison.

Strikedown

type:Physical
Vocals:By my power i strike you down!
Actions: Tear a level one or two spell card. Touch or point at the target.
Range:30feet
Effects:the target is struck by a magical force and knocked to the ground. This causes no damage
Reaction: You must fall completely to the ground. Holding onto an object or person will not prevent you from falling. Once the fall is complete you can get back up again. Before falling, check the area you are falling on to is safe.
