Magic Cards
Magic cards are an out of character record used to aid you in keeping track of the number of spellcasting or incantation powers you have cast and to show targets and recipients of your powers that a magic effect has been cast on them.

There are three types of cards; level 1, level 2 and level 3. The number of cards you receive is determined by the number of spells or incantations of each level that you are able to cast in a day. For example, a character with spellcasting 2 would receive five first level spell cards and three second level spell cards for each day that the character is at an event. Magic cards are only valid for one day. Anyone found littering their cards may lose their allocation for the next day.

For events with a 24-hour time in, a day is considered to be dawn to dawn. Dawn is standardised for ease of reference as 6am. For the main Lorien Trust events a day is considered to be the time in period, which is 10am-2am. Any cards that have not been used by time out are invalid and cannot be used on the next day.

When casting a spell or incantation you must tear one of your cards of the appropriate level in half. For example, if casting a spell or incantation of the first level you must tear a first level card in half. The card must be torn at the end of the vocal. If you do not have any first level cards left you can tear a second or third level card up instead, provided that you have the appropriate skill. You cannot tear up a card that is of a lower level than the spell or incantation you wish to cast. Magic cards are an out of character representation of a character's power and as such cannot be stolen in character. Players found stealing magic cards may be asked to leave site.

Spellcasters may collect their magic cards from the Mages guild after time in at Lorien Trust main events. Incantors may collect their magic cards from the Incantors guild after time in at Lorien Trust main events.
